Where It All Begins
Every brand has an origin story. Most of them aren't worth telling. This one is.
The pilot episode of Town Hero's captures something rare — the raw, unfiltered energy of a local business opening its doors for the very first time. No polish. No script. Just Dan Monaco, a crew that believed in the mission, and a sub shop in Lantana, Florida that was about to become a Palm Beach County institution.
Before the Shop, There Was a Fire
If you want to understand Town Hero Subs, you have to start before the pilot. Just days before the grand opening, Dan spotted a house fire in Lake Worth while riding his golf cart. He grabbed a potted plant, ran to the pool, and started scooping water onto the flames until firefighters arrived. The homeowner later said his quick action saved her home, her tenant's dog, and everything they owned.
That week — the same week he opened the shop — Dan donated 50% of grand opening proceeds to the family. WPTV covered the whole story. The name Town Hero wasn't just branding. It was already true.
What the Pilot Captures
Episode 1 drops you into the shop and introduces the people who make it run. You'll meet Dan and the crew — real people, not characters. You'll feel the excitement and the nerves of a grand opening week. You'll see what it looks like to build something from scratch in a community you actually live in.
This isn't a chain. There's no corporate playbook. Every sandwich is made to order, every piece of meat sliced fresh. The pilot makes that clear in the first few minutes — and it sets the tone for everything that follows.
